Upegamau: Samoan Proverbs and Philosophies

Much of Samoan culture especially those related to the mind is archived in proverbs, which are widely used in its oratorical fashion. This study deals with the abuse and the misapplication of the art, using them out of context. Most importantly, it addresses the understanding that proverbs as widely used in speeches, do not belong only to kings, chiefs and orators, but to all. The study searches into the origin, place and perhaps the event and especially the context and their use during speeches (communication), plus their philosophical applications including their morals implications.
